In contemporary education, strategies and approaches must be adapted to the specific needs and contexts of institutions. Multimodal teaching is presented as an ideal option to face the problems of the teaching-learning process, allowing students to capture information effectively through different sensory modalities (auditory, visual, verbal, kinesthetic). This approach not only makes learning more engaging, but improves retention and understanding of the material, especially benefiting students with difficulties in traditional methods. Multimodal learning techniques respond to the different rhythms of students through various teaching resources, positively impacting their academic performance. Internationally, these techniques promote creativity and learning from mistakes. In Ecuador, although attempts are made to make the curriculum more flexible, traditional education prevails. Locally, at the Juan E. Verdesoto school, the need to implement multimodal strategies to improve the academic performance of students is observed. The research seeks to establish the impact of multimodal teaching techniques on the academic performance of fourth-year basic education students at the Juan E. Verdesoto school. The justification focuses on the fact that these techniques adapt to the learning rhythms of all students, using visual, auditory and tactile channels, and are relevant in a globalized and digital context. The aim is to identify, analyze and use these techniques to improve the academic performance of students.es_ES
