| dc.description | Education plays a fundamental role in the advancement of the world, both economically, culturally and socially, and this goes hand in hand with collaborative learning and the cognitive development of students. Therefore, the objective of this research is to evaluate collaborative learning and the development of cognitive skills of eighth grade students of the “Adolfo María Astudillo” Educational Unit in the city of Babahoyo, period 2023. The methodology applied was mixed in nature. . with a descriptive, exploratory and documentary approach; The technique used was the interview and observation directed at the course teacher and the eighth year students. The results showed that students have difficulty carrying out activities collaboratively and do not provide due attention to classes, for which the teacher considers that collaborative learning is necessary for the development of cognitive skills. In conclusion, given the complication that students present for group work and the development of their skills, it is necessary to create an action plan focused on the improvement of these variables. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La educación es un papel fundamental para el avance del mundo, tanto a nivel económico, cultural y social, y esto va de la mano con el aprendizaje colaborativo y el desarrollo cognitivo de los estudiantes. Por ello la presente investigación tiene como objetivo evaluar el aprendizaje colaborativo y el desarrollo de las habilidades cognitivas de los estudiantes de octavo grado de la Unidad Educativa “Adolfo María Astudillo” de la ciudad de Babahoyo, periodo 2023. La metodología aplicada fue de carácter mixto con enfoque descriptivo, exploratorio y documental; la técnica utilizada fue la entrevista y la observación dirigida para la docente de curso y los estudiantes de octavo año. Los resultados arrojaron que los estudiantes tienen dificultad en realizar actividades de manera colaborativa y tampoco brindan la atención debida a las clases, para lo que la docente considera que un aprendizaje colaborativo es necesario para el desarrollo de las habilidades cognitivas. En conclusión frente a la complicación que presentan los alumnos para el trabajo en grupo y el desarrollo de sus habilidades, es necesario la creación de un plan de acción enfocado en el mejoramiento de estas variables. | es_ES |
