dc.descriptionThe research analyzes the representation of women in the digital media of Los Ríos, Ecuador, highlighting how gender stereotypes influence social perception. In order to show that women are represented in traditional roles such as caregivers and mothers, while men dominate the areas of leadership and decision-making. Through interviews with communication professionals, public questionnaires and content analysis, persistent patterns of inequality and bias in media narratives were identified. Furthermore, the impact of these representations on women's self-esteem and aspirations is highlighted, especially among the younger generations. The research highlights the urgency of implementing inclusive strategies in digital media to promote equitable representation, contributing to the construction of a more just and diverse society.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa investigación analiza la representación de la mujer en los medios de comunicación digitales de Los Ríos, Ecuador, destacando cómo los estereotipos de género influyen en la percepción social. A fin de evidenciar que las mujeres son representadas en roles tradicionales como cuidadoras y madres, mientras los hombres dominan las áreas de liderazgo y decisión. A través de entrevistas con profesionales de la comunicación, cuestionarios al público y análisis de contenido, se identificaron patrones persistentes de desigualdad y sesgos en las narrativas mediáticas. Además, se resalta el impacto de estas representaciones en la autoestima y aspiraciones de las mujeres, especialmente entre las generaciones más jóvenes.
