dc.descriptionRice is one of the most widely produced crops in the country, therefore, it is necessary to take into account relevant information on rice cultivation and the different stages. The main objective of the research was to determine the effect of drought on rice crop production (Oryza sativa L.). In preparing the document, information was collected from scientific articles, websites and virtual libraries, considering it as non-experimental bibliographic research, through the use of synthesis, analysis, and summary of the information. The study found that drought due to water shortage in rice cultivation leads to a reduction in production, affecting the growth and development of plants. In Ecuador, high temperatures associated with climate change worsen the situation, reducing yield in cereal-producing regions. The appropriate water line for rice cultivation varies in each phenotypic phase, with germination between 5-10 cm, the vegetative phase between 10-15 cm, and the reproductive phase between 20-25 cm. Proper water line control, temperature regulation, nutrient availability and efficient water management can significantly save this vital resource.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl arroz es uno de los cultivos que más se produce en el país, por lo tanto, es necesario tener en cuenta la información relevante del cultivo de arroz y las diferentes etapas. La investigación presentó como objetivo principal determinar el efecto de la sequía en la producción del cultivo de arroz (Oryza sativa L.). En la elaboración del documento se recopiló información de artículos científicos, sitios web y bibliotecas virtuales, considerándose como una investigación no experimental de carácter bibliográfico, mediante el uso de síntesis, análisis, y resumen de la información. El estudio demostró que la sequía debido a la escasez de agua en el cultivo de arroz conduce a una reducción de la producción, afectando el crecimiento y desarrollo de las plantas. En Ecuador, las altas temperaturas asociadas con el cambio climático empeoran la situación, reduciendo el rendimiento en las regiones productoras de cereales. La línea de agua adecuada para el cultivo de arroz varía en cada fase fenotípica, con la germinación entre 5-10 cm, la fase vegetativa entre 10-15 cm, y la fase reproductiva entre 20-25 cm. El control adecuado de la línea de agua, la regulación de la temperatura, la disponibilidad de nutrientes y la gestión eficiente del agua pueden ahorrar significativamente este recurso vital.es_ES
