In the development of the research based on the "Effect of heat stress on the productivity of gestating sows in the Ecuadorian tropics." The objective was to analyze heat stress on the productivity of gestating sows. Regarding the methodology, it was determined that the study was carried out in a descriptive type, with a bibliographic research design. Within the development, topics such as climate change in the world and in the country, and designs and characteristics of pig facilities in the Ecuadorian tropics, management strategies to mitigate the effects of heat stress on gestating sows, constant temperature control and monitoring, in addition, the impact that heat stress has on the productivity of gestating sows and finally the physiological parameters that produce heat stress in gestating sows. Regarding the results, the study showed that ventilation, both natural and forced, is one of the most widely used tactics to mitigate the impacts of heat stress. If this stress is not taken into account, it could jeopardize fetal growth and increase the mortality rate of piglets. In conclusion, systems such as evaporative cooling and the use of reflective and thermally insulating materials are effective in reducing ambient temperature. These reactions, despite being necessary, increase energy consumption and can cause fatigue and reduced physical activity. Furthermore, heat stress affects heart rate and generates hormonal imbalances.es_ES
