dc.description | The study focuses on determining how Khan Academy impacts the development of cognitive skills in Psychology students at the Technical University of Babahoyo. A mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative) with an exploratory descriptive scope was used. The sample consisted of 515 students out of a population of 647. Surveys and observation were used as techniques, questionnaires and observation sheets as data collection instruments.
The results revealed that Khan Academy offers structured and varied tools that promote cognitive development, understanding, and strengthening skills in Psychology students. A positive correlation was observed between frequent use of the platform and the strengthening of cognitive skills. However, challenges were identified, such as a lack of motivation to continue using the platform and the need to adapt the content to the specific needs of Psychology courses.
Finally, the study highlights the potential of Khan Academy as a complementary resource in the academic training of Psychology students, although it also highlights the importance of addressing the challenges and barriers identified. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | El estudio se centra en determinar cómo Khan Academy impacta en el desarrollo de habilidades cognitivas en estudiantes de Psicología en la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo. Se empleó un enfoque mixto (cualitativo y cuantitativo) con alcance descriptivo exploratorio. La muestra consistió en 515 estudiantes de una población de 647. Se utilizaron encuestas y observación como técnicas, cuestionarios y fichas de observación como instrumentos de recolección de datos.
Los resultados revelaron que Khan Academy ofrece herramientas estructuradas y variadas que promueven el desarrollo cognitivo, la comprensión y el fortalecimiento de habilidades en los estudiantes de Psicología. Se observó una correlación positiva entre el uso frecuente de la plataforma y el fortalecimiento de habilidades cognitivas. Sin embargo, se identificaron desafíos, como la falta de motivación para continuar utilizando la plataforma y la necesidad de adaptar el contenido a las necesidades específicas de los cursos de Psicología.
Finalmente, el estudio subraya el potencial de Khan Academy como recurso complementario en la formación académica de estudiantes de Psicología, aunque también destaca la importancia de abordar los desafíos y barreras identificados. | es_ES |
