During the last few years, there have been very important developments in mathematics education, both qualitatively and quantitatively. For the most part, such advances have occurred in theoretical fields without significant impact on large segments of the population. This may be due, on the one hand, to the lack of communication between classroom teachers and the strategies put into practice in education in the area of mathematics and, on the other hand, to the fact that teachers have not yet adequately acquired knowledge about the adequate development of the learning process and the teaching of mathematics in schools during the process of formation and renewal of their knowledge. Information on the pedagogy of the strategies has already been activated in recent times. This article aims to illustrate some aspects related to new developments and perspectives on various processing strategies and their influence on learning. The research refers to the complexities of teaching mathematics. Subsequently, a set of elements inherent to certain methods of processing strategies and the active capacity of the student are discussed. This is followed by an investigation on the pedagogical principles of modern and traditional mathematics education, considering the specific objectives of analyzing the factors that relate to the processing strategies and their learning of mathematics, identifying the characteristics presented by the strategies of processing in the learning of mathematics and diagnose the specific elements that the learning of mathematics presents in the processing strategies.es_ES
