The importance of mineral nutrition and its relationship with the defenses of banana crops in Ecuador, seeks to understand the underlying mechanisms that link the availability of minerals with the immune response of banana plants, but also to propose nutritional management strategies that optimize the defense of plants and the productivity of plantations, in accordance with the various current environmental and economic challenges. The general objective of this research is based on determining the importance of mineral nutrition and its relationship with the defense mechanisms of banana cultivation (Musa AAA L) in Ecuador. Thus, the methodology used in this study is a non-experimental bibliographic research using synthesis, analysis and summary of the collected data. Among the main nutrients involved in the defense of the banana crop are nitrogen (N), essential for the structure of proteins and vitamins required by the crop, potassium (K), an essential nutrient for the photosynthesis process, and phosphorus ( P) agent that promotes the physiological growth of the plant. Finally, it was identified that, within the nutrient application methods, foliar application is more effective in quickly correcting nutrient deficiencies such as zinc and iron.es_ES
