Lettuce is an important crop in the global economy, consumed in salads, as a gastronomic decoration and recommended in diets due to its low calories. In Ecuador, producers are small and supply 83% of domestic consumption. However, lettuce requires specific care and nutrients for high-quality yield. The population of this study is composed of 405 L. Sativa lettuce plants, grown in the experimental fields of the Technical University of Babahoyo in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, located in the province of Los Ríos, Ecuador. The plants were subjected to different levels of fertilization with nitrogen and potassium, distributed in an A x B factorial design with 9 treatments and three repetitions. Comparisons of the means were made with the Tukey test at 95% statistical significance. The lot includes 27 plots, each experimental unit had 15 lettuce plants. The Patagonia RZ lettuce variety was used as planting material. The proposed treatments consisted of Nitrogen + Potassium in doses of 90+120 kg/ha; 90+180 kg/ha; 135 +180 kg/ha; 135 +120 kg/ha; Nitrogen at a dose of 0; 90 and 135 kg/ha; Potassium in doses of 0; 120 and 180 kg/ha, which includes an absolute control without fertilizer application.es_ES
