dc.description | Agricultural growth, hunger eradication and poverty eradication are linked in the sense that agriculture provides income, employment, food and other goods and services. An organic garden is a natural and economical way to produce healthy food naturally throughout the year. According to the World Bank's Food and Agriculture Program, the current food system threatens the health of people and the planet: 70% of the water withdrawn is used for agriculture. The purpose of this study is to describe the benefits of organic gardens, their importance and the types of vegetables used in urban areas of Ecuador. A theoretical, inductive/deductive approach was used to complete the project using bibliographic research of books and scientific articles. With positive results and multiple benefits, it concludes demonstrating the importance of organic vegetable gardens in Ecuadorian cities, from the healthy to the economic point of view. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
