In the realization of this case study, a comparative analysis was carried out of the wording used by two print and digital media in Ecuador, the newspapers Extra and El Comercio, which have a high volume of sales in the country, but like other companies During the state of exception due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it limited its print sales to only digital media, using hypermedia narrative to engage its readers with current news. The method for the analysis of the information that was used is the direct observation file where it was found that the newspaper Extra uses a lot the type of publications of editorial criteria, taking direct responsibility for the comments or words used by its journalists or editors, for its part, the newspaper El Comercio, respecting the stipulations of the LOC, mentions its communicators or journalists in order to also give greater credibility to the facts expressed in the news. The use of the hypermedia narrative is not fully used because digital media are still in continuous development in addition to the need to subscribe in a compulsory way to acquire the benefits and be able to review the news, before this it is concluded that the use of sensationalism by part of the newspaper Extra did not change during the Covid-19 pandemic, including this increase, causing speculation and even fear among its readers who published comments on social networks to better control those published, for its part, the newspaper El Comercio faithful to its axes and institutional values use official sources to inform the general public of the events during the COVID-19 pandemic.es_ES
