In this research, the impact of Educational Technology on the academic development of students at the José María Estrada Coello Educational Unit was analyzed. The notable absence of technological resources that affects the teaching-learning process in 7th year students of Basic General Education was identified as the main problem. A descriptive research approach was adopted to analyze how this deficiency impacts the personalization of learning and the optimization of pedagogical methods. The findings from the methods were combined to provide a balanced view. Finally, an experimental research design was conducted to examine the causal relationship between technology integration and academic performance. Educational technology has the potential to significantly impact the academic development of students, as observed in the 7th year of basic education at the José María Estrada Coello Educational Unit. Through the use of technological tools, teaching and learning can be improved, facilitating access to information and new forms of interaction. However, the quantitative and qualitative findings of this analysis reveal the urgent need to incorporate and optimize the use of technology in the classroom. Students reported a lack of access to computers, limiting their learning opportunities. Additionally, a significant percentage of students categorized their academic performance as “Fair” or “Poor.” Integrating technology into the classroom may present initial challenges, but the benefits are indisputable. Finally, it is necessary to invest in technological infrastructure and training of teachers and students to improve their academic performance.es_ES
