dc.description | Coffee production in Ecuador has presented a variable behavior in the last twenty years. Coffee growing for Ecuadorians is an activity with outstanding economic, social and environmental importance. Coffee in this country means income generation for coffee growers, collectors, transporters and marketers. Coffee is exposed to various negative factors such as climatic variations, poor development of cultural activities, low yields, competitiveness in the international market and the inefficiency of laws that empower and ensure the commercialization of Ecuadorian coffee. The study method was based on the bibliographic compilation of information from web pages, published material, e-books, encyclopedias, newspapers, theses, theses, papers, reviews, articles and magazines, according to the study topic. The information obtained was made through the analysis and synthesis technique, in order to learn about the generalities of coffee production in Ecuador, in the last 20 years. The conclusions determine that the coastal region is the one with the most productive hectares of coffee, as well as the plantation and harvest. In the same way, the continuous and dizzying decline in the amount of hectares available to produce coffee is observed; For the vast majority of producers, marketing constitutes the central problem they face today because domestic prices are subject to the mobility of the international price, which once determines the prices that the producer receives; The labor required for coffee production has been in short supply in recent years and the owners of the crops have been harmed. This has been the product of the bad social conditions of the people who are involved in the process. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
