dc.description | In Ecuador, medium and small farmers are dedicated to growing vegetables, in the agricultural context we can define vegetables as those herbaceous plants, grouped as: legumes, legumes, cabbages, bulbs, vegetables, with different life cycles: short, annual, semi-annual and perennial, most of the horticultural production is carried out in the open air, the horticultural surface under greenhouse is minimal, there are around 300 ha throughout the country, in the coastal areas they are mostly dedicated to the production of monocultures such as bananas, coffee, cocoa, rice, corn and soybeans, leaving aside the production of vegetables where their production is minimal. The information obtained was made using the analysis, synthesis and summary technique, in order for the reader to know the production of vegetables in the coastal region and how important it is to produce vegetables since it is the daily diet of all families. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | En el Ecuador al cultivo de hortalizas se dedican los medianos y pequeños agricultores, en el contexto agrícola podemos definir a las hortalizas como aquellas plantas herbáceas, agrupadas como: legumbres, leguminosas, coles, bulbos, verduras, con diferentes ciclos de vida: corto, anuales, semestrales y perennes, la mayor parte de la producción hortícola se realiza al aire libre, la superficie hortícola bajo invernadero es mínima, existiendo alrededor de 300 ha en todo el país, en las zonas costeras en su mayoría se dedican a la producción de monocultivos como son banano, café, cacao, arroz, maíz y soya dejando a un lado la producción de hortalizas donde su producción es mínima. La información obtenida fue efectuada mediante la técnica de análisis, síntesis y resumen, con la finalidad de que el lector conozca la producción de hortalizas en la región costa y cuán importante es producir hortalizas ya que es la alimentación diaria de todas las familias. | es_ES |
