dc.descriptionThe present investigative work collected information about the agri-food culture of the urban area of the Babahoyo by conducting face-to-face surveys where 382 families from the four sampled parishes were sampled, which were Pimocha, Caracol, La Unión and Febres Cordero; The survey was comprised of two dimensions: Socioeconomic and Food Security. In the socio-economic dimension, it was identified that the heads of household are male, who presented a low level of education (Primary), generally engaged in agriculture and banana work, people who carry out agricultural activities own their own land, but only They carry out monocultures, including rice, soybeans, corn and cocoa, which are conventionally managed (agrochemicals). In the home environment, housewives do not have vertical orchards with vegetables, rather they have fruit trees within the patios of the houses for self-consumption, livestock activities are carried out for family self-consumption; As for family income, these are between $ 41 and $ 60 per week, these come from agriculture and work in private companies (banana). In the food security dimension, people buy their food and basic products from neighborhood stores. They also indicated that they make three meals a day at home; As for food, there is a high consumption of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Bananas, cheese, milk, eggs, table sugar, rice, wheat, butter and palm oil are mostly consumed at breakfast; At lunch, cheese, beef, seafood, chicken, pork, tomato, bell pepper, garlic, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, potato, tree tomato, banana, lentil, table sugar, butter and palm oil are consumed; at snack they consume cheese, beef, seafood, chicken, beans, lentils, rice, sugar and palm oil.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo investigativo levantó información acerca de la cultura agroalimentaria del sector rururbano del cantón Babahoyo mediante la realización de encuestas presenciales en donde se muestrearon 382 familias de las cuatro parroquias muestreadas, las cuales fueron Pimocha, Caracol, La Unión y Febres Cordero; la encuesta estuvo comprendida por dos dimensiones: Socioeconómica y la de Seguridad Alimentaria. En la dimensión socioeconómica se identificó que los jefes de hogar son del sexo masculino los cuales presentaron un bajo nivel de instrucción (Primaria), generalmente se dedican a la agricultura y trabajos en bananera, las personas que realizan actividad agrícola poseen terrenos propios, pero solo realizan monocultivos dentro de los que se encuentra el arroz, la soya, el maíz y el cacao los cuales se manejan convencionalmente (agroquímicos). En el ámbito del hogar las amas de casa no poseen huertos verticales con hortalizas más bien poseen frutales dentro de los patios de las casas para el autoconsumo, las actividades pecuarias se las realizan para el autoconsumo familiar; en cuanto a los ingresos familiares estos bordean entre los 41 y 60 dólares semanalmente estos proceden de la agricultura y del trabajo en empresas privadas (bananera). En la dimensión de seguridad alimentaria las personas adquieren sus alimentos y productos básicos de tiendas de barrio a parte señalaron hacer tres comidas diarias en el hogar; en cuanto a la alimentación se denota un consumo elevado de carbohidratos, proteínas y grasas, en el desayuno se consume mayoritariamente el plátano, queso, leche, huevo, azúcar de mesa, arroz, trigo, mantequilla y aceite de palma; en el almuerzo se consume queso, carne de res, mariscos, pollo carne de cerdo, tomate, pimiento, ajo, brócoli, coliflor, cebolla, papa, tomate de árbol, plátano, lenteja, azúcar de mesa, mantequilla y aceite de palma; en la merienda consumen queso, carne de res, mariscos, pollo, frijoles, lentejas, arroz, azúcar y aceite de palma.es_ES
