dc.description | This case study entitled “Offering accommodation through the digital platform Airbnb in the province of Los Ríos” highlights the impact on local tourism, its advantages and disadvantages, such as lack of information and poor marketing strategies. Likewise, the origins of Airbnb are described within the conceptual framework, its collaborative economy model within the province and its presence since 2013, which allows owners to rent spaces temporarily and generate income. The problem is presented as a limited offer of accommodation in the area, and the lack of advertising on the digital platform. The methodology that was proposed in this study is based on a qualitative approach with descriptive and analytical methods, of a documentary nature, to write the findings found through research on the platform, its use and information in general. The results, on the other hand, show a slight increase in the use of Airbnb, the preference of the population for this type of accommodation is due to its ease of obtaining and competitive prices in the hotel sector. In conclusion, it can be deduced that the Airbnb digital platform has diversified the province's tourism offer, benefiting owners and visitors, while facing challenges in competition with hotels and the need for greater promotion, where, ultimately, it is recommended to implement dissemination strategies and present clear standards to strengthen the impact of Airbnb in the local tourism sector. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | El presente caso de estudio titulado “Oferta de alojamientos a través de la plataforma digital Airbnb en la provincia de Los Ríos”, destaca el impacto en el turismo local, sus ventajas y desventajas, como la falta de información y las malas estrategias de comercialización. Del mismo modo se describen los orígenes del Airbnb dentro del marco conceptual, su modelo de economía colaborativa dentro de la provincia y su presencia desde el año 2013, que permite a los propietarios alquilar espacios temporalmente y generar ingresos. Como planteamiento del problema se obtiene una oferta limitada de alojamiento en la zona, y la falta de publicidad sobre la plataforma digital. La metodología que se planteó en este estudio se mantiene en un enfoque cualitativo con métodos descriptivos y analíticos, de tipo documental, para redactar los hallazgos encontrados a través de las investigaciones sobre la plataforma, su uso e información en general. Los resultados por otro parte, muestran un aumento leve en el uso de Airbnb, la preferencia de la población por este tipo de alojamientos se debe a su facilidad de obtención y por los precios competitivos al sector hotelero. Como conclusión se deduce que la plataforma digital Airbnb ha diversificado la oferta turística de la provincia, beneficiando a propietarios y visitantes, al mismo tiempo enfrenta desafíos en competencia con los hoteles y la necesidad de una mayor promoción, en donde, por ultima instancia se recomienda implementar estrategias de difusión y presentar normas claras para fortalecer el impacto del Airbnb en el sector turístico local. | es_ES |
