dc.description | Urbano Express is a company specialised in the distribution and delivery of shipments in the region. The main focus of this research is to identify and evaluate the efficiency of the logistics operations within the company, with particular emphasis on the processes of receiving, transporting, and delivering packages. Through the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data, as well as interviews with key personnel and direct observation, the various links in the logistics chain and the challenges related to product routing and delivery times are analysed. The study also addresses the difficulties affecting the company’s performance, such as resource shortages, inadequate route planning, and time management. The analysis results will allow for the formulation of recommendations and proposals to improve logistics management, aiming to optimise the use of resources, reduce operational costs, and, most importantly, enhance customer satisfaction. This study aims not only to offer practical solutions for Urbano Express, but also to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the logistics sector in the city of Babahoyo. dc.description.abstract | Urbano Express es una empresa especializada en la distribución y entrega de encomiendas en la región, el enfoque principal de la investigación es identificar y evaluar la eficiencia de las operaciones logísticas dentro de la empresa, con especial énfasis en los procesos de recepción, transporte y entrega de paquetes. A través de la recolección de datos cualitativos y cuantitativos, así como entrevistas con personal clave y al observación directa, se analizan los distintos eslabones de la cadena logística y los desafíos relacionados con el enrutaje de productos y los tiempos de entrega. El estudio también aborda las dificultades que afectan el rendimiento de la empresa, como la falta de recursos, la planificación inadecuada de rutas y la gestión del tiempo, los resultados del análisis permitirán formular recomendaciones y propuestas de mejora en la gestión logística, con el objetivo de optimizar los recursos utilizados, reducir los costos operativos y, principalmente, mejorar la satisfacción del cliente, este estudio pretende no solo ofrecer soluciones prácticas para Urbano Express, sino también contribuir al fortalecimiento de la competitividad del sector logístico en la ciudad de Babahoyo.
