dc.description | Agriculture is a productive activity that has been expanding primarily through the production of foods such as cereals, which are the most widely cultivated. Rice is an example of this, as it is the staple food for society. Worldwide, it ranks second only to wheat in terms of harvested area. This research aims to determine the agronomic and productive performance of the promising L-37 rice line grown in the Guare area, Los Ríos province. The methodology used was a nonparametric design with Kruskal Wallis analysis, including comparisons of means. The research was conducted on a farm owned by Mr. Frank Franklin Fajardo López, located in the Guare area. Three replicates (three samples with areas of 4 m² taken from one hectare of crop) and two cultivars (L-37 and SFL-11) will be considered for the analysis. With a total population of 348 seedlings for both the promising line L-37 and SFL-011 in R1, R2, and R3, the plot evaluation technique consisted of direct counting of individuals, tillers, panicles, grains, plant-to-row spacing, and yield estimation. Two treatments, L-37 and SFL-11, were used in three replicates. Regarding results, the promising rice line L-37 showed fewer panicles, reaching 20.27 panicles, compared to the commercial variety SFL-11 (22.37), which maintains a much higher number of panicles. L-37 had a lower percentage of vain numbers (8.79), compared to the commercial variety SFL-11 (12.73). It is found that the promising rice line L-37 has a distance of 31.93 cm from the commercial variety, which is slightly larger at 33.13 cm. It turns out that the shorter the distance, the greater the number of plants. Although there are similarities in the agronomic characteristics of the commercial variety SFL-11 and the promising line L-37, the latter is the one that truly shines in terms of yield and generates an impressive range of 6.5 to 7 tons per year. It is concluded that the promising line L-37 has a high significance with the control in yield and is a promising line for the benefit of farmers in the area. | es_ES |
