dc.description | Rice (Oryza sativa L.) represents an important item in the basic family basket worldwide, with global and consumer demand. In Montalvo, rice cultivation is essential for farmers in that area according to studies. The L-07 rice variety is relevant for its high productivity and its resistance and tolerance to pests and diseases. This research was conducted at the field/laboratory level, with inferential descriptive statistics, with the objective of improving the productivity of the promising rice line L-07 (Oryza sp) compared to the commercial variety SFL-11 in the CEDEGE area, Montalvo, Los Ríos province, with three replications in the two varieties. The following variables were evaluated: plant height (cm), number of tillers per plant, number of panicles per plant, panicle length (cm), total number of grains per panicle, length (mm) and width (mm) of grains with and without hull; and yield (kg/ha). A nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis analysis design was performed. The results obtained in this research indicate that the promising rice line L-07 (Oryza sp) is more productive than the commercial variety SFL-11, showing higher yields per hectare and better adaptation to the agroclimatic conditions of the CEDEGE area in Montalvo, in agreement with Rodríguez (2024). Over the past few decades, the rice sector has experienced significant technological transformation, which has led to significant global improvements in the relationship between the various production chains. This work shows that the promising rice line L-07 has good plant height for mechanization and early maturity for efficient crop rotation, and is more resistant to pests. Its adaptability and productivity make it a promising option under diverse agricultural conditions and at different planting times. While there are similarities in the agronomic characteristics of the SFL-11 variety and the promising line L-07, it is clear that the line with the greatest stability is the L-07. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
