dc.description | Rice, Oryza sativa L., is one of the most important crops worldwide. It is the most consumed cereal after wheat. The objectives were to determine the agronomic and productive performance of the promising rice line (Oryza sp.) L-38 in the Baba area, Los Ríos province. Stakes were used to measure random points, samples of 2 x 2 m (4 m2), in 3 replications for each line/cultivar. A completely randomized block experimental design was performed, with the Tukey test at 95% probability. The results indicate that the promising line L-38 has a higher number of plants per m2 of 52.00 plants, planting distance between rows with 26.67 cm, number of tillers per plant with 38.77 cm, height of plants per m2 of 96.63 cm, panicles per plant with 36.37 panicles, number of grains per panicle with 139.21 grains, length of grain with hull with 9.85 cm, number of empty grains with 4.22 grains, width of grain without hull with 1.91 mm, higher yield with 8652.83 kg / ha and the control variety SFL-11 has a higher planting distance between plants with 26.63 cm, panicle length with 23.79 cm and length of grain without hull with 7.01 mm. The conclusions determined that the promising L-38 line stands out for its adaptability in the Baba region. Its good results in agronomic characteristics are reflected in its excellent grain quality compared to the SFL-11 variety. This makes it a promising and economically beneficial option for rice farmers. L-38 outperforms the control rice variety and is considered a more productive alternative for producers in the Baba region of Los Ríos Province, Ecuador. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
