This thesis deals with the importance of localized irrigation technology in coastal agriculture in Ecuador, highlighting its importance in a scenario of water shortage and climate change. The main purpose is to establish how this technology maximizes water use and boosts productivity in agriculture, contributing to the sustainability of the industry. A descriptive and analytical approach is used based on a bibliographic review and case analysis in the region. The findings indicate that drip and micro-sprinkler irrigation enables a more efficient use of water, increasing yields by up to 30% compared to conventional techniques such as flood irrigation. This efficiency benefits agricultural producers by reducing operational costs and encouraging a more conscious use of aquatic resources. The conclusions underline that, despite the high initial investment in river systems with high localization, the long-term advantages, such as increased crop quality and increased profitability, support its implementation. Additionally, it is proposed that training farmers and implementing support policies are essential to promote the use of these technologies. In conclusion, the implementation of localized irrigation emerges as an essential tactic to address the challenges present in agriculture on the Ecuadorian coast, ensuring a more sustainable and productive growth in the agricultural industry. Finally, it is crucial to promote studies that examine the economic effect of the application of localized irrigation technologies in various types of crops.es_ES
