dc.description | The study on bipyridyl herbicides, specifically paraquat and diquat, focused on their impact on the management of weeds in the province of Los Ríos. The general objective was to theoretically analyze how these herbicides influenced weed control, a critical aspect for agricultural production in the region. To carry out this research, updated information was gathered from scientific articles, websites, Google Scholar, and virtual libraries, allowing for the collection of opinions and ideas from various authors on the topic. The research was conducted as a non-experimental bibliographic study, employing synthesis, analysis, and summarization of the collected information. The impact of these herbicides on the physiology of weeds and their potential resistance was addressed, considering that recurrent use may have led to the adaptation of weed species, complicating their control. Additionally, the economic and environmental consequences of using paraquat and diquat were examined. Effective weed control proved essential not only for improving crop yields but also for maintaining agricultural sustainability in the region. The implementation of integrated management strategies that considered the responsible use of these herbicides was crucial for mitigating associated risks, thereby promoting a healthier and more productive agricultural environment in Los Ríos. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
