Nematodes are microscopic organisms that can significantly affect rice crops, causing significant losses in crop yield, the main nematodes that affect rice in Ecuador are Hirschmanellia spp, Meloidogyne, Aphelenchoides, which can cause up to 90% losses, to avoid high populations of nematodes, the implementation of preventive measures and control strategies is required, therefore this research aims to evaluate the levels of infestation of phytoparasitic nematodes in rice soils, using sampling techniques and quantitative analysis of the Guayas and Los Ríos Provinces. The methodology used is the quantitative and qualitative research modality with data originating from the field and laboratory, being a type of field and non-experimental research, through soil sampling in the 20 rice-growing localities of the Guayas and Los Ríos provinces to evaluate the levels of infestation of phytoparasitic nematodes in rice soils. In the provinces of Los Ríos and Guayas, a high presence of nematodes harmful to rice soils was found, the genera Meloidogyne, Hirschamniella and Pratylenchus were the most common, being Meloidoyne the most abundant, the localities of Pimocha, FACIAG, Pueblo Viejo and Daule presented greater infestation of nematodes. In the province of Los Ríos, the result was as a more affected area than the province of Guayas, a problem is the use of recycled seeds by farmers in each area, nematodes are harmful organisms that reduce yield and severely affect the production of rice mentioned in these regions.es_ES
