dc.description | The banana industry is an economic and cultural cornerstone of Ecuador, accounting for a significant percentage of the country's total exports. However, current production dynamics and decisions regarding the management of agrochemicals in these vast plantations have raised serious concerns in both environmental aspects and the health of the workers. The primary purpose of this research was to thoroughly analyze these practices through a meticulously designed survey. Applied to a strategic sample of 19 producers, various aspects were examined, from the choice of agrochemicals, their application, to their subsequent disposal. The results revealed a wide variety of agrochemicals used, with significant variations in safety practices, storage, and elimination. These variabilities highlighted the urgent need to strengthen training and awareness around safer and more sustainable practices. Based on the findings, a set of strategies was formulated to reinforce the proper management of these critical inputs, placing special emphasis on occupational health protection and environmental preservation. As a result, this work underscores the imperative need to adopt more stringent and conscious measures in the banana production of the region. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
