dc.descriptionThe following investigative work details the main problems in Ecuadorian agriculture in times of pandemic and the consequences caused in small and medium farmers. It should be noted that COVID-19 has caused severe damage not only in Ecuadorian agriculture but also in agriculture worldwide. Being this the main source of food that supplies the population, they will obtain income for small farmers and their families, which will contribute to the food security of the different countries of the world. The present study is a descriptive type analysis, based on theoretical contributions, whose objective was to analyze the current situation of agriculture in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The methodology consisted of the compilation of scientific articles and official publications in the public domain from academic, technological, scientific and governmental institutions. This pandemic has caused the closure of 50% of businesses (stores, fairs, markets), has induced a serious difficulty for the marketing chains, which has caused the sector to increase its storage capacity and look for new distribution channels. The results focused on the main problems in Ecuadorian agriculture in times of COVID-19 in agriculture, concern for food security, social impacts on agriculture, and government commitment. In conclusion, it is considered that COVID-19 would generate impacts on agriculture and food security, which would result in a food crisis.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEn el siguiente trabajo investigativo se detalla de los principales problemas en la agricultura ecuatoriana en tiempos de pandemia y cuáles fueron las consecuencias provocadas en los pequeños y medianos agricultores. Hay que destacar que el COVID-19 ha causado daños severos no solo en la agricultura ecuatoriana sino también a la agricultura a nivel mundial. Siendo esta la fuente principal de alimentos que abastecen a la población, generando ingresos a los pequeños agricultores y sus familias, que contribuyen a la seguridad alimentaria de los diferentes países del mundo. El presente estudio es un análisis tipo descriptivo, basada en aportes teóricos, cuyo objetivo fue analizar la situación actual de la agricultura frente a la pandemia COVID-19. La metodología consistió en la recopilación de artículos científicos y publicaciones oficiales de dominio público de instituciones académicas, tecnológicas, científicas y gubernamentales. Esta pandemia ha provocado el cierre del 50% de los comercios tiendas, ferias, mercados, ha inducido una seria dificultad para las cadenas de comercialización, lo que ha ocasionado que el sector tenga que incrementar su capacidad de almacenamiento y buscar nuevos canales de mercado con la finalidad de que su producción llegue de manera oportuna al consumidor. Los resultados se enfocaron en los principales problemas en la agricultura ecuatoriana en tiempos de COVID-19 en la agricultura, preocupación por la seguridad alimentaria, impactos sociales en la agricultura y compromiso de los gobiernos. En conclusión, se considera que el COVID-19 generaría impactos sobre la agricultura y la seguridad alimentaria, lo cual traería como consecuencia una crisis alimentaria.es_ES
