It can be noted that the Hawaiian papaya is a widely consumed fruit, due to its nutritional, medicinal and digestive properties; Fruit in Ecuador is a challenge for producers in terms of marketing, due to current marketing chains and the demands of international markets. It has multiple benefits of cultivation that can be mentioned: The fruit can be produced throughout the year, with various characteristics for export, regarding its size, color and flavor; the price varies in the national market, without product requirements, unlike the international market whose prices and quality are very demanding; Papaya production is an alternative crop for farmers, who are mostly entrepreneurs, where they can take advantage of their land, infrastructure and the various market conditions for its sale, and in the domestic market the most used marketing channel is of producer-retailer-consumers.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente documento recopiló información importante sobre la comercialización del cultivo de papaya hawaiana (Carica papaya) en el Ecuador. Hay que destacar que la papaya hawaiana se exporta en nuestro país hacia Estados Unidos, por ser una fruta apetecible y con múltiples beneficios vitamínicos lo que promueve su consumo a nivel internacional, lo que genera fuente de ingreso a la mayoría de los productores de papaya. Se puede destacar que la papaya hawaiana es una fruta muy consumida, debido a las propiedades nutricionales, medicinales y digestivas que posee; la fruta en el Ecuador es un desafío para los productores en cuanto a su comercialización, por las actuales cadenas de comercialización y las exigencias de los mercados internacionales. Posee múltiples beneficios del cultivo se pueden mencionar: La fruta se puede producir durante todo el año, con diversas características para exportación, referente a su tamaño, color y sabor; el precio varía en el mercado nacional, sin exigencias del producto, a diferencia del mercado internacional cuyos precios y calidad son muy exigentes; la producción de papaya es un cultivo alternativo para los agricultores, que en su mayoría son empresarios, donde para el cultivar pueden aprovechar sus terrenos, infraestructura y las diversas condiciones de mercado para su venta y en el mercado interno el canal de comercialización más utilizado es de productor- minorista-consumidos.es_ES
