Banana cultivation is an economically important crop in Ecuador since it generates sources of income for an important population that depends on this agricultural item. Although it did not originate in the country, this has not prevented the cultivation from developing and locating the nation as a banana-producing country, it is also considered one of the oldest crops, mainly from the coastal region. This crop is one of the main export products which is cultivated at the national level after rice, corn and wheat; Bananas are of vital importance in the diet of all human beings as well as an export product, in addition, bananas decisively favor the economy of many low-income and food-deficit countries, among these countries Ecuador participates . The fertilization of the macroelement potassium must be the same at the time of fertilization as nitrogen, phosphorus since all are of vital importance for the development of the plant. When there are no nutritional limits in the soil in the banana yield, it is related to the availability of the vital liquid that is water and to the planting density. In all crops, the correct import of nutrition during plant development has been demonstrated, taking K more into account. In order to carry out the realization of this document, bibliographic information was compiled from scientific articles, web pages and digital technical manuals. This information was obtained to be able to analyze it and thus be able to translate it to the readers and to understand the importance of potassium as a macronutrient for the growth and development of the banana crop.es_ES
