dc.description	INTRODUCTION: "The problem of chronic malnutrition in school-age children is a serious problem in the country", as it causes them "a permanent alteration" to their physical and motor development, radically influencing their learning process 22.6% of Ecuadorian children suffer from malnutrition according to a study carried out this year. Despite being high, the percentage is 3.4 percentage points lower than in 2006, when the child population of school age with chronic malnutrition was 26 percent. OBJECTIVE: To identify the relationship between malnutrition and school performance of the students of the NAHIM Educational Unit ISAIAS BARQUET Las Marías - Baba - Los Ríos. METHODOLOGY: In the present research project, the inductive logical method has been used where particular facts that have been evidenced in the course of the investigation have been taken, taking as a reference the previously hypothesized hypothesis that will allow to affirm or refute the aforementioned hypothesis. RESULTS:It was shown that the academic achievement levels cover a large percentage where the most predominant was a bad academic performance with 62% (10), and in relation to the BMI 35% 6 find moderate malnutrition and 29% 5 He is severely malnourished, which indicates that students who show degrees of malnutrition are those in which low academic performance is evident. CONCLUSION:When carrying out the inferential analysis, statistically significant results were obtained, which allowed accepting the research hypothesis	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	INTRODUCCION: "El problema de la desnutrición crónica en niños de edad escolar es un problema serio en el país", pues les provoca "una alteración de tipo permanente" a su desarrollo físico y motriz, influyendo de manera radical en su proceso de aprendizaje. El 22,6 % de los niños ecuatorianos menores sufre de desnutrición según un estudio elaborado este año. Pese a ser elevado, el porcentaje es inferior en 3,4 puntos porcentuales al registrado en 2006, cuando la población infantil de edad escolar con desnutrición crónica era del 26 por ciento. OBJETIVO: Identificar la relación entre la desnutrición y el rendimiento escolar de los estudiantes de la la Unidad Educativa NAHIM ISAIAS BARQUET Las Marías – Baba – Los Ríos. METODOLOGIA: En el presente proyecto de Investigación se ha empleado el método lógico inductivo donde se ha partido de hechos particulares que se han evidenciado en el transcurso de la investigación, tomando como referencia la hipótesis previamente planteada que permitirá afirmar o refutar la hipótesis antes mencionada. RESULTADOS: Se demostró que los niveles de rendimiento académicos abarcan un gran porcentaje donde el más predominante fue un rendimiento académico malo con un 62%(10), y en en Relación al I.M.C el 35 %6 se encuentran con una desnutrición moderada y un 29%5 se encuentra con una desnutrición severa lo cual indica que los estudiantes que presentan grados de desnutrición son aquellos en los que se evidencia bajos rendimientos académicos. CONCLUCION: Al realizar el análisis inferencial se obtuvo resultados estadísticamente significativos , lo cual permitió aceptar la hipótesis de investigación	es_ES
