In the field of preschool education, the development of fine motor skills in children aged 5 to 6 years is essential for their comprehensive development. Fine motor skills, which refer to the coordination and dexterity of the small muscles of the hands and fingers, play a crucial role in their cognitive, social and emotional growth. This study was carried out at the Camilo Gallegos Educational Unit in Quevedo, with the objective of evaluating the impact of recreational activities on improving fine motor skills in students of this age. Applying an exploratory methodology, a sample of 182 students was considered, relying on bibliographic research of previous research, both internationally and nationally, that supports the effectiveness of recreational activities in child development. The results revealed that the implementation of recreational activities specifically designed to improve fine motor skills had a positive effect on the students of this institution. Children who participated in the program experienced significant improvements in their fine motor skills. It was concluded that play and fun are powerful pedagogical tools that effectively stimulate the development of fine motor skills in an attractive way for children. In addition, the importance of the active collaboration of teachers and the participation of parents in this process was emphasized.es_ES
