dc.descriptionThe purpose of this case study was to determine how intellectual disability, a disorder found in neurodevelopmental disorders, has its incidence on the academic performance of a 12-year-old adolescent from the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Educational Unit, this case was taken of the pre-professional practices, which was given its respective intervention and follow-up during that period. This disorder is very common not only at the national level, such a condition tends to affect three main domains, as well as: conceptual, social and practical domain, that is, it influences in a non-positive way various social environments (home, educational, work, etc.). In turn, in the present research work an intervention was carried out focused on providing reinforcement in the cognitive processes that are involved in the teaching-learning process, such processes are mentioned below: working memory, linguistic, abstract and mathematical. The research techniques used to address the problem were: indirect observation, semi-structured interview, clinical history, etc. On the other hand, the techniques used in each of the affected areas were: letter discrimination, guidelines for proper reading, strategies for abstract reasoning, and mathematical reasoning. The proper intervention was made in the problems related to learning, obtaining an improvement, but not immediately, it is suggested that teachers and parents pay attention to such deficiencies that may arise in life as a student of their children, since this It can have repercussions as the educational level progresses, making it a big problem.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio de caso tuvo como finalidad determinar el cómo la discapacidad intelectual, trastorno que se halla en los trastornos del neurodesarrollo, tiene su incidencia en el rendimiento académico de un adolescente de 12 años de la Unidad Educativa Alfredo Noboa Montenegro, este caso fue tomado de las practicas preprofesionales, al cual se le dio su respectiva intervención y seguimiento durante aquel periodo. Dicho trastorno es muy común no solo a nivel nacional, tal condición tiene a afectar tres dominios principales, así como: dominio conceptual, social y practico, es decir, que influye de manera no positiva en varios entornos sociales (hogar, educativo, laboral, etc.). A su vez, en el presente trabajo de investigación se realizó una intervención enfocada a brindar refuerzo en los procesos cognitivos que se ven involucrados en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje, tales procesos se mencionan, a continuación: memoria de trabajo, razonamiento lingüístico, abstracto y matemático. Las técnicas de investigación empleadas para la abordar la problemática fueron: la observación indirecta, entrevista semiestructurada, historia clínica, etc. Por otro lado, las técnicas empleadas a cada una de las áreas afectadas, fueron: discriminación de letras, pautas para una lectura adecuada, estrategias para el razonamiento abstracto y razonamiento matemático. Se realizó la debida intervención en los problemas relacionados al aprendizaje, obteniendo una mejoría, pero no de manera inmediata, se sugiere a los docentes y padres prestar atención a tales deficiencias que se puedan presentar en la vida como estudiante de sus hijos, ya que esto puede repercutir a medida que va avanzando de nivel educativo, haciendo que se convierta en una gran problemática.es_ES
