Play is one of the main resources used by teachers to facilitate the teaching and learning process in early education. Therefore, it is essential that teachers design and implement strategies in which playful activities are used to awaken the student's interest to learn in an entertaining, creative and innovative way, where meaningful learning is enhanced and education is of quality. The objective of this research was to analyze the game as a learning strategy and its importance in the educational processes in 4 year old children of the Manuelita Saenz Educational Unit. The research methodology was a non-experimental study, with a mixed approach and descriptive scope. The types of research used were: applied and field research. The techniques used were observation, survey and interview. A Rho Spearman statistic was also applied, which is used for non-parametric data correlation, and the results showed a statistical association between the two variables of 0.495. The research findings showed that the games used by the teacher as a learning strategy do not enhance the knowledge of infants and that they obtain significant learning. It can be concluded that the use of play as a learning tool is indispensable for early childhood education, because it generates a series of benefits in the formation and potentiates the physical, cognitive, social and emotional capacities of the infant.es_ES
