The management of solid waste in agriculture is an issue that today has managed to besiege itself in an important place within the environmental culture, since several studies have been carried out that maintain that the environmental pollution generated by the mishandling of solid waste generated due to agricultural inputs, they affect production per unit area, since since the green revolution in the 1970s, the necessary controls have not been made to avoid damage to the soil flora and microfauna. In this research, it is a question of knowing the level of knowledge and awareness that people possess in the Parish of Pimocha belonging to the city of Babahoyo, which connoted that there is almost total ignorance and unconcern about the collection, recycling and disposal of waste generated by agricultural inputs. Through this study, the aim is to provide a possible solution to the problems already exposed. The problem of soil contamination is mainly due to the lack of knowledge and awareness of the inhabitants, in the face of the large amounts of plastic waste, the common disposal practices carried out by farmers have consisted of burying them, thereby compromising quality of the aquifers. Short-cycle crops, banana plantations and sugar mill pollute the soil because they do not have an appropriate system for the disposal of solid waste such as chemical containers, sacks, all kinds of plastic material, tapes.es_ES
