dc.description | Coffea arabica L., is a crop that is grown in 56 countries in Asia, Africa, and America, it is very important internationally and nationally due to its great economic contribution to people, generating sources of income, as well as, due to the wide range of adaptation of ecological conditions.
The objective of this final work, corresponding to the practical component of the Complexive Examination. It was carried out to determine the importance of genetic improvement of coffee (Coffea arabica L.) in Ecuador. At present, only three species of the 130 that exist of the genus Coffea are cultivated commercially, such as: Coffea arabica L., Coffea Canephora and Coffea liberica Bull. The genetic improvement of coffee cultivation in recent decades, has become important in the world due to the great benefits it offers when using this technique in which it increases productivity and in turn generates greater economic income to the people who dedicate themselves to this type of crop. In Ecuador, research has been carried out to improve clones of the genus Coffea canephora, but the information is limited and there are very few studies on the chemical characteristics
It has been demonstrated that the use of this technique provides many benefits for small and large producers, and it is necessary to know the improvement methods to obtain good results. Planning, dedication, and a good distribution of time must be considered, that in these essential points the selection of the best individuals with genetically improved characteristics will result. It is important to emphasize that the use of genetic improvement of coffee crop is an alternative applied by scientists to obtain new varieties, so that coffee growers generate greater economic income and thus can improve their style and quality of life. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
