Tomato cultivation has experienced great growth due to excellent demand, being one of the most consumed vegetables worldwide, according to INEC in Ecuador the annual production is 61,426 metric tons in 3,333 ha, with an average of 18.4 t / ha. Prodiplosis longifila, or bold tomato is the main economic problem of this crop, therefore it has become one of the greatest limitations for its development. In this research, the behavior of P. longifila and the main integrated management techniques that are used for its control are detailed, reaching the conclusion that chemical control due to its effectiveness is the most used by most producers, but With the passing of time, the pest has been adopting resistance to this method, for which reason investigations have been carried out in other types of techniques, such as the implementation of light traps to capture adults, use of organic insecticides or also through the use of natural enemies. (parasitoids, predators or entomopathogens) that without having applied any type of insecticides give good results.es_ES
