Bees are important pollinating agents of wild and cultivated plants, the domestic bee is known for the production of honey and wax elements of great utility in Ecuador. In this work, the plant species used by the queen bee (Melipona mimetica) were recorded by direct observation on the estate of Mr. José Isidro Garcia Suarez in the San Antonio de Aguas Blancas compound, Guare parish of Baba canton, Los Ríos Province where the presence of the pecoreando bee was verified, which are described botanically, including the dates of flowering and the determination of the pollen color of each one of them. Finally, the meliponícola calendar for planning future studies and / or topics of interest related to beekeeping in Ecuador is presented, highlighting that it is the first known record of this type for this area.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLos himenópteros originan grandes beneficios al hombre. Las abejas son importantes agentes polinizadores de plantas silvestres y cultivadas, la abeja doméstica es conocida por la producción de miel y cera elementos de gran utilidad en el Ecuador. En este trabajo se registraron por observación directa las especies vegetales usadas por la abeja reina (Melipona mimetica) en la finca del Sr. José Isidro García Suarez en el recinto San Antonio de Aguas Blancas, parroquia Guare del cantón Baba, Provincia de los Ríos donde se constató la presencia de la abeja pecoreando, las cuales se describen botánicamente, incluyendo las fechas de floración y la determinación del color de polen da cada una de ellas. Finalmente se presenta el calendario meliponícola para planificación de futuros estudios y/o temas de interés relacionados con la apicultura en el Ecuador, resaltando que es el primer registro de este tipo conocido para esta zona.es_ES
