dc.description | In our country, the development of orange cultivation has increased in recent years, being considered as a crop of vital importance for certain sectors of the Ecuadorian Coast. Being Caluma the main orange producing canton of the country, this being the official emblem of the city and sources of great ventures.
In recent years, the growth of the Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri) has been diagnosed, whose direct damage is that it extracts large quantities and produces honey from the dew which favors the growth of sooty mold fungi.
It is also the vector of the disease known as Huaglongbing, which is highly destructive for citrus fruits, which is caused by a bacterium of the genus Candidatus liberibacter.
Knowing the severity of the Asian psyllid and the presence in neighboring countries, this study was in charge of evaluating the hypothesis that this insect has no greater relevance in our country, that is, it is found in low population quantities, which does not affect performance in terms of production is concerned. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | En nuestro país el desarrollo del cultivo de naranja se ha incrementado en los últimos años, siendo considerado como un cultivo de vitales importancias para ciertos sectores del Litoral Ecuatoriano. Siendo Caluma el principal cantón productor de naranja del país, siendo esta el emblema oficial de la ciudad y fuentes de grandes emprendimientos.
En los últimos años se ha diagnosticado el crecimiento del psilido asiático de los cítricos (Diaphorina citri), el cual su daño directo es que extrae grandes cantidades y producen miel del rocio el cual favorece el crecimiento de hongos de fumagina.
También es el vector de la enfermedad conocida como Huaglongbing que es altamente destructiva para los cítricos el cual es causada por una bacteria del género Candidatus liberibacter.
Conociendo la gravedad del psilido asiático y la presencia en países vecinos, este estudio se encargó de evaluar la hipótesis de que este insecto no tiene mayor relevancia en nuestro país, es decir se encuentra en bajas cantidades poblacionales, el cual no afecta en rendimiento en cuanto producción se refiere. | es_ES |
