Considered as a strategic sector, capable of leading a country along the path of growth and subsequent economic development. Tourism has become a key driver of socioeconomic progress. Ecuador has innumerable areas of great tourist attraction that stand out for their varied culture and great biodiversity, among these, the central mountains and the Amazon, have a great wealth. The economic development presented by Quevedo constitutes it as one of the leading cantons at the provincial level due to the various commercial activities, placing it as a city that generates income and sources of employment, since companies with different productive activities are located within the city, They attract more investors and promote local tourism. The coastal location of the city influences to have a pleasant climate possessing natural resources with a wide fauna of animal and vegetable species make the city a tourist potential and a favorite destination for nationals and foreigners. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | El turismo ha experimentado un continuo crecimiento y una profunda diversificación, hasta convertirse en uno de los sectores económicos que crecen con mayor rapidez en el mundo. Guarda una estrecha relación con el desarrollo y se inscriben en el número creciente de nuevos destinos, ha tomado mayor fuerza durante los últimos años a nivel mundial; ha llegado a formar parte primordial en la estructura económica de los países. Considerado como un sector estratégico, capaz de llevar a un país por el camino del crecimiento y posterior desarrollo económico. El turismo se ha convertido en un motor clave del progreso socioeconómico. El Ecuador posee innumerables zonas de gran atractivo turístico que se destacan por su variada cultura y gran biodiversidad, entre estas, la sierra centro y la amazonia, presentan una gran riqueza. El desarrollo económico que presenta Quevedo lo constituyen como uno de los cantones líderes a nivel provincial debido a las diversas actividades comerciales situándola como una ciudad generadora de ingresos y fuentes de empleo, pues dentro de la urbe se encuentran localizadas empresas con diversas actividades productivas, que atraen a más inversionistas y promueven el turismo local.
