| dc.description | This research was carried out with the purpose of morphologically describing the Savoy grass (Megathyrsus maximus Jacq), under the agroecological conditions of the Babahoyo canton. Morphological diversity was analyzed in a sample size of 25 individuals located within the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo located in Babahoyo province of Los Ríos. To evaluate an agroecological proposal for the development of Savoy grass, characteristics used for other studies of the same nature were adapted. As a result, it was possible to demonstrate that in the present experimental work the stability of the species can be evidenced, since almost all the variables did not exceed 50% of coefficient of variation (Cv> to 50%), with the exception of the variable # stems which obtained a coefficient of variation of 56.04%. For the qualitative variables, there was no variability among the evaluated descriptors. Finally, it is recommended to replicate the study in other forage grasses of tropical climate, to know its morphological characteristics and its effect on the nutritional behavior in ruminants and execute a new research work, in order to assess yields and nutritional quality | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Esta investigación se realizó con la finalidad de Describir morfológicamente el pasto saboya (Megathyrsus maximus Jacq), bajo las condiciones agroecológicas del cantón Babahoyo. Se analizo la diversidad morfológica en un tamaño de muestra de 25 individuos situados dentro de Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad técnica de Babahoyo situado en Babahoyo provincia de Los Ríos. Para evaluar una propuesta agroecológica para el desarrollo del pasto saboya se adaptaron caracterizadores utilizados para otros estudios de la misma índole. Como resultado se pudo evidenciar que en el presente trabajo experimental se puede evidenciar la estabilidad de la especie, ya que casi todas las variables no superaron el 50% de coeficiente de variación (Cv > a 50%), a excepción de la variable #vástagos que obtuvo un coeficiente de variación de 56.04%. Para las variables cualitativas no se presentaron ningún tipo de variabilidad entre los descriptores evaluados. Finalmente se recomienda replicar el estudio en otras gramíneas forrajeras de clima tropical, para conocer sus características morfológicas y su efecto sobre el comportamiento nutricional en rumiantes y ejecutar un nuevo trabajo de investigación, a fin valorar rendimientos y calidad nutricional. | es_ES |
