Solid waste management in San Carlos Parish, Canton Quevedo, faces significant challenges due to improper waste disposal, which generates contamination and affects the quality of life of the inhabitants. Despite efforts in environmental education programs, social and cultural barriers limit the adoption of sustainable practices such as waste separation. This study focuses on analyzing the communication strategies used in these programs and their impact on waste management habits in the parish. Through the identification of gaps and opportunities for improvement, we seek to propose new strategies adapted to the local context to promote greater community awareness and participation in waste separation and sustainable waste management. It is expected that these proposals will strengthen the environmental commitment of the population and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment, serving as a model for other communities with similar problems and consolidating an integrated approach.es_ES
