The present study investigates the presence of M. haemofelis in domestic cats in El Mamey, a bacterium that generates hemoplasmosis, characterized by hemolytic anemia, and mainly attacks cats with a weakened immune system. Transmission is attributed mainly by vectors, but also by direct contact. The percentages of this bacterium at international level oscillates between 0.4 and 27%, in our country, specifically in Guayaquil, 11.54% was registered. The aim of this research is to know the values in the determined sector, to know the clinical signs and symptoms that cats positive for the disease may present. The way in which the study is conducted is through a cross-sectional study, taking blood samples from 40 domestic cats since stray cats were not taken into account, with the samples obtained a blood smear is performed, then these are stained with Diff Quick to observe the pathogen, this allows to know the importance of keeping track of vaccines and deworming, also seeks to establish a vaccination schedule for the inhabitants of the site to become aware of this disease and how it can affect felines. In addition to all this, we want to make way for future studies of the same characteristics at the cantonal level.es_ES
