This project addresses how the assessment of students from 3rd to 5th grade at the Ciudad de Montalvo Educational Unit was able to identify the most common refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, which often go unnoticed due to the lack of programs or specific guidance for teachers to assess the visual health of their students. This can impact the emotional well- being of children, as well as their academic performance. Through a preventive approach, we seek to identify these visual problems at early stages and involve teachers in the detection of possible difficulties. In this way, a culture of prevention and care for visual health is promoted within the educational community. When talking about prevention, we emphasize (a progression of refractive error). The methodology will consist of performing visual assessments on students, determining the prevalence and the most common types of refractive errors, and establishing a continuous monitoring system for those who require attention. The creation of a guidance guide for teachers to facilitate early recognition of visual symptoms is also proposed. The research has an important justification, as it contributes to improving the quality of life of students, prevents long-term visual complications and reinforces the role of the school as a key space for preventive health. In addition to focusing on visual health, the study seeks to lay the foundations for future educational and health policies in the institution.es_ES
