dc.description.abstractLos medios de comunicación son de enorme importancia, son reconocidos en la sociedad como un espacio de evolución creciente en torno al cumplimiento de los comportamientos éticos en el ejercicio del periodista y deben mantener la función de publicar noticias que sean de calidad y que estén debidamente contextualizadas, que sean objetivas y contrastadas. Los periodistas son los principales responsables de servir a los intereses de sus lectores y elaborar la información puesto a que deben mantener su labor en el respeto a los derechos de las personas con el compromiso de orientar a la ciudadanía. “Y en cuanto a los medios de comunicación social urge contar, indudablemente, con el mayor número de periodistas éticos, es decir, veraces, objetivos, imparciales, honestos, con independencia de criterio, democráticos, responsables y solidarios” (Negrete, 2009, pág. 2). La ética representa los principios de la imparcialidad, objetividad y veracidad. Los periodistas deben manejar estos valores para que sean parte de su quehacer o para que el manejo sea responsable en la labor diaria periodística. Finalmente, se pretende reflexionar sobre la necesidad de un periodismo ético; se trata de describir el desempeño honesto que todo periodista debe mantener en su diario vivir, orientando la deontología profesional en el cumplimiento de las normas éticas que el periodismo exige.es_ES
