This study focuses on analyzing tourists' perceptions of agrotourism in the Los Ríos province of Ecuador, a region rich in agricultural and cultural diversity. Using a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative and qualitative techniques, the study aims to identify areas with the highest agrotourism activity and determine strategies to promote its growth. A clear distinction is made between agrotourism and rural tourism, highlighting that agrotourism offers visitors the opportunity to actively participate in the daily activities of farms, thereby enriching their experience. The results indicate that the southern part of the province is the most significant for tourists interested in agrotourism. Various methodological strategies, including interviews and surveys, were employed for data collection, providing valuable insights into visitors' motivations and expectations. This analysis not only enhances the understanding of agrotourism but also underscores the need to formalize existing initiatives and train farm owners to maximize the sector's potential. Finally, the study emphasizes the importance of improving the sustainability of agrotourism practices, given the significant impact tourists have noted on the environment. It concludes that agrotourism in Los Ríos offers not only authentic experiences but also has the potential to drive local economic development and conserve natural and cultural resources. The recommendations derived from this research will serve as a foundation for future actions and studies in the field of sustainable tourism.es_ES
