dc.description | Introduction: Chronic kidney disease is a disease that worldwide is considered a public health problem, whose care must be interdisciplinary and the nutritional and dietary therapeutic approach plays a relevant role in halting its accelerated progression and its complications. The general objective of this case study is to carry out the nutritional care process in a 55-year-old male patient with stage 5 chronic kidney disease. The methodology used was to collect quantitative and qualitative information on the patient at the Liborio Panchana Hospital in order to carry out the relevant assessments. As a result of these data, a nutritional diagnosis, intervention and the necessary follow-up were formulated. Thus, it was concluded that chronic kidney disease is a complex pathology that often leads to other health problems such as anaemia, hypertensive crises, concomitant diseases such as diabetes, and therefore, the nutritional approach is crucial. Because of this, teamwork is recommended in order to improve the consequences of the disease itself in a timely and effective manner with the aim of improving the patient's quality of life. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | Introducción: La enfermedad renal crónica es una enfermedad que a nivel mundial está considerada como un problema de salud pública, cuyos cuidados deben ser interdisciplinarios y el abordaje nutricional y dietoterapéutico juegan un papel relevante para detener la progresión acelerada de la misma y sus complicaciones. Este estudio de caso tiene como objetivo general realizar el proceso de atención nutricional en un paciente masculino de 55 años con enfermedad renal crónica estadío 5. La metodología a utilizar fue recopilar información cuantitativa y cualitativa del paciente en el Hospital Liborio Panchana para proceder a realizar las valoraciones pertinentes. Como resultados de estos datos se realizó la formulación de un diagnóstico nutricional, la intervención y el seguimiento necesario. De esta forma, se llegó a la conclusión de que la enfermedad renal crónica es una patología compleja que suele acarrear otros problemas de salud como la anemia, crisis hipertensivas, enfermedades concomitantes como la diabetes y por ello, el abordaje nutricional es crucial. Debido a esto se hace la recomendación del trabajo en equipo para poder mejorar las consecuencias de la propia enfermedad de manera oportuna y eficaz con la finalidad de mejorar la calidad de vida del paciente. | es_ES |
