dc.description | The research addresses the relationship between visual acuity and academic performance of high school students of the Computer specialization in the Educational Unit August 29, a decrease in visual acuity that affects school performance is identified. The general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between visual acuity and academic performance in Computer Science high school students at the August 29 Educational Unit of Mata de Cacao during the period April - August 2024. The methodology used a descriptive correlational research design, with an inductive and deductive approach, and data were collected in the subjects' school environment without manipulation of variables. The population of this research is made up of 128 high school students specializing in Computer Science, from which a representative sample of 97 students was selected. The results of the evaluation show that visual acuity is a determining factor in academic success. Students with 20/200 to 20/400 vision showed significant difficulty achieving learning objectives, while those with clearer vision performed better. These findings highlight the importance of good vision for the educational process. After having performed visual examinations on these students, visual acuity could be corrected and academic performance improved, as an increase in grades was evident, by first making a diagnosis and then treating the ametropia that was the cause of the decrease. of visual acuity. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
