The hydroponic agriculture method improves water use, reduces the risk of diseases and pests, and is well suited to dry towns and cities; in addition, it allows for better and faster vegetative growth, providing full control of assimilable nutrients. By growing fruits and vegetables without harmful substances, hydroponics promotes a healthy lifestyle and diversifies the country's agricultural economy, providing a valuable opportunity for farmers. This technology diversifies the country's agricultural economy and provides significant opportunities for farmers to increase their productivity and prosperity. Furthermore, with its potential to transform the agricultural landscape, hydroponics is an important solution for the future of Ecuador. This research work aimed to analyze the socioeconomic impact and sustainability of hydroponic agriculture in Ecuador. The methodology was based on non-experimental bibliographic research using the analysis technique, journals, current texts, articles, synthesis and summary of the data collected. It was found that in Ecuador, hydroponic systems such as NFT are popular in urban areas, optimizing water use and maximizing fresh food production in small spaces. This method allows for year-round cultivation, improving food security and creating economic opportunities, while promoting environmental education and a more sustainable lifestyle; concluding that hydroponic systems optimize agricultural production in urban environments, improving food security and economic development.es_ES
