The calculation of evapotranspiration is important for irrigation management to increase agricultural efficiency and productivity, evapotranspiration (ET) is an important process in the hydrological cycle that links the transpiration of water through the soil and vegetation change, It is important to optimize water use and plant growth. With ET we can estimate how much water a plant needs to stay in good condition, thus avoiding water shortages and excess irrigation. This research work aims to analyze the importance of calculating evapotranspiration in irrigation management at the plot level. The methodology was based on non-experimental bibliographic research using the analysis technique, magazines, current texts, articles, synthesis and summary of the collected data. Having as results the importance of calculating the evaporation of ETC crops using the Penman-Monteith and Blaney-Criddle methods lies in the accurate estimation of the water needs of the crops. The calculations are crucial for efficient irrigation management, optimizing water use and improving agricultural productivity. An accurate calculation of the ETC allows the development of irrigation strategies that ensure adequate water supply. Concluding that the calculation of the ETC allows determining the water requirements of the crop according to the climate, crop management, type of crop and soil, thus allowing efficient and effective use of water by applying the correct sheet at the time. irrigation.es_ES
