dc.description | The early assessment of the nutritional status in patients with dysphagia shows the existence of suffering from a risk of malnutrition, due to the challenges that the patient faces during the suffering of neurodegenerative diseases, respiratory infections, immunosuppressed patients or post-extubation can affect food intake. and weight loss, which can contribute to increased mortality and morbidity. The objective of the research was to determine the nutritional status of patients aged 40-64 years with dysphagia at the Abel Gilbert Pontón Hospital. November 2023- April 2024. The study used an inductive methodology, qualitative-quantitative approach, cross-sectional non-experimental design, and descriptive level, it was carried out from the collection of a database to create an analysis and determine the nutritional status of patients with dysphagia hospitalized during the described period; who had to have a diagnosis of dysphagia to be included in this research. In order to evaluate nutritional status by taking anthropometric measurements (brachial and calf circumference) and GLIM criteria. The reference population was made up of a total of 55 patients with dysphagia from the hospitalization area. The most relevant results of the study were the presence of severe malnutrition, which was prevalent in 37% (n=20) of the hospitalized patients, while moderate malnutrition followed, presenting in 36% (n=20) of the cases and 27% (n=15) of the remaining did not present malnutrition. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
