dc.descriptionThe present study focuses on analyzing the impact of photography on the selection of tourist destinations in Santa Elena, Ecuador. The research seeks to understand how tourist images influence travelers' travel decisions and how these perceptions affect the promotion and development of tourism in the region. To achieve this goal, a case study was conducted using surveys as the primary method of data collection. The results revealed that the majority of respondents consider photography to be an influential factor when selecting a tourist destination, and that images of stunning landscapes and authentic experiences increase interest in a destination. However, divergent opinions were also identified regarding trust in images shared by other travelers and the importance of images on social media when choosing a destination. These findings highlight the importance of developing attractive and authentic visual content, promoting effective online marketing strategies, and fostering sustainable tourism practices in Santa Elena. This study underscores the need to understand and leverage the power of photography in the promotion and development of tourism in the region.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio se centra en analizar el impacto de la fotografía en la elección de destinos turísticos en Santa Elena, Ecuador. La investigación busca comprender cómo las imágenes turísticas influyen en las decisiones de viaje de los turistas y cómo estas percepciones afectan la promoción y el desarrollo del turismo en la región. Para alcanzar este objetivo, se llevó a cabo un estudio de casos utilizando encuestas como principal método de recolección de datos. Los resultados revelaron que la mayoría de los encuestados consideran que la fotografía es un factor influyente al seleccionar un destino turístico, y que las imágenes de paisajes impactantes y experiencias auténticas aumentan el interés en un destino. Sin embargo, también se identificaron opiniones divergentes en cuanto a la confianza en las imágenes compartidas por otros viajeros y la importancia de las imágenes en redes sociales al elegir un destino. Estos hallazgos resaltan la importancia de desarrollar contenido visual atractivo y auténtico, promover estrategias efectivas de marketing en línea y fomentar prácticas turísticas sostenibles en Santa Elena.
