dc.description | This case study analyzes in depth the sustainability of the practice of adventure tourism in Caluma Canton, Bolivar Province, Ecuador, in its three dimensions: social, economic and environmental. The study used a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, including a survey of 100 community residents involved in tourism activities, 3 interviews with key actors in the sector, and a zonal observation sheet to study the impact of adventure tourism on the environment in the area. As a result, the local perception of the sustainability of adventure tourism is low compared to what has been observed in the area, and tourism operators are looking for a way to respond to this problem with new sustainable development measures. It is concluded that the importance of sustainable practices and policies that contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development of local communities has been recognized. It is recommended to continue working on environmental education programs for residents and tourists, the creation of sustainable tourism infrastructures, and the application of new sustainable measures in all tourism activities, with stricter regulations. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | Este estudio de caso analiza en profundidad la sostenibilidad en la práctica del turismo de aventura en el Cantón Caluma, provincia de Bolívar, Ecuador, en sus tres dimensiones: social, económica y ambiental. El estudio utilizó una combinación de métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos, incluyendo una encuesta a 100 residentes de la comunidad involucrados en actividades turísticas, 3 entrevistas con actores clave del sector y una ficha de observación zonal para estudiar el impacto del turismo de aventura en el medio ambiente de la zona. Como resultado, la percepción local de la sostenibilidad del turismo de aventura es baja en comparación con lo observado en la zona, y los operadores turísticos buscan una forma de responder a este problema con nuevas medidas de desarrollo sostenible. Se concluye que se ha reconocido la importancia de las prácticas y políticas sostenibles que contribuyen a la protección del medio ambiente y al desarrollo sostenible de las comunidades locales.
